The Role
Council's Infrastructure Delivery Section is a growing unit that undertakes the design and delivery of various asset types on behalf of the various section of Council
Suitably qualified and experienced candidates are sought for the permanent positions of Design Engineer within the section
Duties of the position include
- Delivery of designs and related preconstruction activities in accordance with Council’s Project Management Framework and approved timelines
- Preparation of consultancy briefs and tender documentation in accordance with Council’s standards and requirements.
- Provision of Project/Contract management services of allocated projects
- Ensuring that designs obtained/delivered meet or exceed appropriate technical standards
- Ensuring that designs eliminate unnecessary costs whilst preserving functional requirements through the determination of appropriate standards, design principals and innovation.
- Ensuring that all administration duties for assigned projects are completed to agreed standards and in accordance with Council’s policies and procedures
Candidates require tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering (or related discipline), recent experience in civil engineering design, demonstrated project management skills and a sound understanding of contract management principles/practices.

Remuneration
This is a permanent full time position with remuneration at Grade 16-18, being in the range of $84,156.80-$108,174.10 per annun for a 35 hour week, plus 9.5% superannuation.
